Vasilis Xenopoulos

Born in Athens, educated at Berklee and a London resident for many years, Vasilis Xenopoulos is a blazing tenor saxophonist who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his instrument.  Able to play in a wide variety of styles and settings, Xenopoulos’ fantastic Wind Machine group is firmly rooted in the hard-bop idiom and brings a vivacious energy to the work of such greats as Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Thad Jones and Mel Lewis, Duke Ellington and Buddy Rich
