16 th Preveza Jazz Festival - 2018

For the 16  consecutive year the best representatives of contemporary European music will gather in Preveza in western Greece for the well known PREVEZA JAZZ FESTIVAL : 8-10 - June 16th Preveza Jazz Festival - The Festival starts earlier this year by hosting JAZZ NOW on May 26 & 27, a two-day acquaintance with jazz for young musicians with concerts, jam sessions and workshops for all instruments with the professors and teachers of the Ionian University with coordination by Dimos Dimitriadis, at the Music School and the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Preveza (formerly OASI). "Jazz Now!" Is implemented with the exclusive donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. 

The Festival started in 2003 mainly with Greek groups and ended up the coming years to accommodate the most promising names in European jazz and beyond. Names such as Buena Vista Social Club, Eric Burdon, Cristina Villalonga, Goran Bregovic, Stranglers, Dr Feelgood, Wim Mertens, Nouvelle Vague, Cristina Branco, Marjorie Barnes, MARIA JOÃO from Portugal, Ramon Valle from Cuba,  Jef Neve from Belgium,  Benni Chawes from Denmark the Greek-Danish Veronica Mortensen and many others  that participated in the Preveza Jazz Festival excel today in the international jazz scene.
The Festival is held under the auspices of the Regional Unit of Preveza, the Municipality of Preveza, who supports it as an important cultural institution that unites the diverse musical traditions of European countries and which can be a powerful attraction for cultural tourism in the region.
