Cat trying to jam jazz while the mice are performing classical.

“Hep Cat Symphony” was almost a follow up to “Symphony in Spinach”, a 1949 Popeye cartoon done by pretty much the same crew that also timed its gags to the music in each scene. They’re both among the best cartoons to come out of Famous at the end of the 40s, when the quality of the stories was starting to slip and the animation was stiffening up.
