Live Jazz events & concerts in Greece

The third edition of this festival, dedicated to Ladies of Jazz, presented 8 jazz bands with musicians from Finland, France, Canada, England, Puerto Rico and Greece. The artistic director of the festival, George Kontrafouris, presented a program with a repertoire ranging from traditional jazz standards to more contemporary and modern jazz. It was just great performances from great musicians. A still young festival with warm and friendly atmosphere open to every jazz addict or simply jazz lover.

George Kontrafouris jazz pianist & organist with an international career and probably the leading and most restless figure of his generation on the Greek jazz scene, Professor at the jazz department of the Ionian University, and the Artistic Director of Tinos Jazz Festival presents the fifth edition of Tinos Jazz and discusses his impressions of life, music, and jazz education.

Tinos jazz festival 2012, JAZZ VISIONS, will be held from August 24 to 26. This fourth edition presents international & Greek top musicians as well as Greek new talent, You may expect highest quality, surprising discoveries, shimmering experiences, warm moments … music that will remain with you. For musicians, artists and the public, Tinos Jazz Festival is a musical adventure in a relaxed festival-atmosphere. The Tinos Jazz festival is organized by an active cultural foundation, helped by motivated staff members, capable and voluntary, related to a lot of precious friends, and all of this in the heart of the Agean Sea.

Since that first edition of the festival few things have changed, but not the festival’s spirit and identity that, together with its top-quality programs and its warm and friendly atmosphere, have been at the heart of its success. For the fifth edition of this festival, George Kontrafouris, the artistic director of the festival, presented a program with a repertoire ranging from traditional jazz standards to more contemporary and modern jazz. Highlight of this edition, Manfred Schoof founder of European free jazz.

The sixth edition of the Festival will be held on August 28, 29, 30 August, with musicians of the Greek jazz scene and one guest from abroad, under the lead of the artistic Director of the festival George Kontrafouris. Jazz in Tinos will be broadcast live by NEPIT WEBTV.

The seven edition of the Festival will be held on August 28, 29, 30 August, 2015 with musicians of the Greek jazz scene.Line up of the festival this year,Maria Manousakis, Lefteris Christofis Group, Vagelis Stefanoupoulos: Singularity project, Spyros Manesis, and Yiotis Samaras.

Jazz on Tinos 2016 will be held on August 26, 27, 28 August featuring accomplished musicians from Greece, Germany and Italy. Cultural Fondation of Tinos. 21:30 – Entrance free.
