Τhe Fougaro Jazz Festival #2 is growing. From a two to three day event whilst continuing to be a general public friendly event through its free admission policy. Not only is it is continuing in the same style, it is furthermore enriching the program through more music genres with progressive, ethnic, swing, world, fusion to name but a few.
Additionally, on Saturday 27th of September, 12.00 – 13.00, leading Greek drummer and jazz composer George Trantalidis will talk about Rhythm and its journey from Africa to gospel and blues through to modern jazz. In the seminar titled “Rhythm, the most important element in music”, he will talk about his own personal experience which will be accompanied by a presentation of material aimed not only at professional musicians, but anyone who loves and cares about music.
For Fougaro, the Jazz Festival signifies an event that will breathe a new lease of life into Nafplio as well as cement its status as a musical and cultural destination. This year, the artistic direction for the Fougaro Jazz Festival #2 is being overseen by Haris Kavvadias.
