Kozani a city well known for its tradition in music also, is the origin of many talented musicians, who are worldwide recognized in the field of classical music, jazz and other kinds of music.
It has been years since a special relationship between the city and jazz has been built, with main actors its musicians and its warm audience.
September’s international jazz festival comes on top of it all. The festival is organized by the Association “Kozani’s Jazz Friends” and the Municipality of Kozani – Organization of Culture in co-ordination with the Region of West Macedonia, on the 4,5,6 and 7 of September. The festival includes concerts and a jam session, featuring also lots of master classes. It is the jam session that attracts musicians from all around the world giving them the pleasure to play together, interact and exchange experience, while also captivating their audience.

In September 4, 5, 6 and 7 of September Kozani will make a step further towards high quality cultural events aiming this first time to be only the beginning.
The opening of the festival will be held at the hotel “Ermionion” on September 4rth. The concerts will take place at the outdoor Municipal Theater of Kozani or, in case of bad weather conditions, at the Art Gallery Hall, from 5 to 7 of September.
Master classes:
The master classes will take place at “Theatrodromio” (str. Agias Paraskevis). The musicians can also provide private classes at the end of each master class upon request. The price is 10 euros per each master class. Attending at least three of the master classes gives free entry to all concerts.

JAM SESSION —CONCERT
At 12.00 o clock at the Hall of “Theatrodromio” a jam session with the band “Hector Martignon’s Foreign Affair” (Hector Martignon, Panagiotis Andreou, Mauricio Herrrera, Christos Rafailides) will take place. Each player will be able to play a piece with the band, picking out a piece of his choice from the Real Book. The jam session will be filmed and each musician will be handed a dvd.
The price for the jam session is 20 euros per player and the entrance for the audience is 3 euros per person.
