Dayna Stephens, one of the most interesting and musical saxophonists of his generation, stars in "A Week Ago Today", the second release of record label Prophone Finnish Jazz, seeing its international debut on February 23rd, 2011. Andrei Sumelius, George Kontrafouris and Teemu Viinikainen round out the cast on this brilliant new release.

Gretchen Parlato "Lost and Found"

Acclaimed vocalist Gretchen Parlato follows her 2009 sophomore breakthrough recording with Lost and Found, a thoroughly modern offering which features such contemporary jazz stars as pianist Taylor Eigsti, bassist Derrick Hodge, drummer Kendrick Scott, guitarist/vocalist Alan Hampton & tenor saxophonist Dayna Stephens.

On July 4th at Yoshi's San Francisco over 40 musicians performed to raise funds for Dayna's Kidney Transplant. The All-Star Bay Area Musician's Community came together to support him while he waits on a dire kidney transplant and faces costly anti-rejection medications at a monthly rate of over $4,000 a month for an indefinite time period.
