Two time Grammy Award winner and one of contemporary jazz’s leading vocalists, Diane Schuur, nicknamed “Deedles” has headlined many of the world’s most prestigious music venues, and has toured the world performing with such greats as Quincy Jones, Stan Getz, B. B. King, Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder.

She has built a stellar career by embracing and exploring nearly every corner of the 20th century American musical landscape. Her expressive and powerful vocal deliveries have placed her amongst jazz greats such as Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn. Like Stevie Wonder, Schuur was blinded at birth due to retinopathy of prematurity

Long regarded — and sometimes criticized — as an artist who has walked a tightrope between jazz and pop, Schuur has released in 2008 her album “Some Other Time” as an unwavering statement about her commitment to the jazz tradition and its influence on her artistic sensibilities. “This album really is about coming back to the basics of my jazz roots,” she says. “Not that I really completely left them, but there were a few detours along the way.”

The Gathering was released June 2011. The Gathering, is unique in both material and style, and features special guests Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, Mark Knopfler, Larry Carlton and Kirk Whalum. The Gathering is a collection of 10 classic country songs, mostly written during the golden era of the 1960s, and is the first time Schuur has featured this genre of music.

“It would, after 19 previous albums and two Grammy awards, be presumptuous to suggest that Diane Schuur has finally found her niche. Still, there’s no denying that this 10-track collection of classic country tunes, each wrapped in an understated jazz arrangement, represents Schuur at her absolute best.” Jazz Times

MATURE SCHUUR: BETTER THAN EVER! On June 10, 2014, multi-Grammy Award and legendary jazz vocalist, Diane Schuur, releases a stunning new recording I Remember You (With Love To Stan and Frank). Accompanied by an All-Star Band featuring: Alan Broadbent, Ben Wolfe, Ulysses Owens Jr., Joel Frahm, Romero Lubambo, and Roni Ben-Hur, she pays homage to two of her most important mentors Stan Getz and Frank Sinatra with 12 songs previously recorded by them. The release also commemorates her “official” discovery 35 years ago by Stan Getz at the 1979 Monterey Jazz Festival. On June 10, 2014, be a witness–to a new dimension and brilliance of ‘the Deeds!”
