Walking around the streets in the historic area of Thisio you will find
Athenaeum -Kelari in the pedestrian street Adrianou, close to the ISAP station.
What makes this basement
music venue really cool and so appealing is its unique mix of excellent, multi-genre live music, well-presented in a stylish but non-trendy environment, with great bar service, amid an ever-changing creative buzz.
Since they opened in 2011, their music programme has developed into a fantastic musical genre-mix, making the venue hugely popular with a diverse range of audiences. About one third of what goes on here is ‘Jazz’ of some kind, another one third is Acoustic/Blues/Roots, the remaining one third being Funk/Soul/Electric. So there are multiple gigs of varying style happening but always with extremely high quality.
Open from early in the morning, it serves a satisfying variety of breakfast options, from croissants and cakes to freshly cut salads and delicious sandwiches and burgers, accompanied by coffee at reasonable prices.
