A real oasis in the center of Athens !

In the garden of the Numismatic Museum, you will find a unique and hidden café, hidden in the shadows of a magnificent building designed by famed architect Ziller and formerly the residence of Heinrich Schliemann, hosting the Numismatic Museum, one of the largest collections of coins in the world, from ancient times until today.

You will discover the cafe behind the iconic bars of Ilion Melathron in a vast and lush garden of 800 square meters that includes among other things rare old trees, planted by Schliemann. In this majestic garden you can order coffee, snacks, fresh salads, and homemade sweets and drinks.
This is the perfect setting for a relaxed drink with discreet jazz music, enhancing the atmosphere of harmony given by the building and the garden.

Every Thursday at 21:00 the café of the Numismatic Museum organizes live music nights with well known jazz artists playing for you jazz, blues and funk tunes.
This place is an unexpected and pleasant surprise right in the heart of the city, a really special place you have every reason to visit.
